4H Photography Workshop April 16, 2011 John and I gave a photography workshop for a whole room full of 4H photography students and some of their advisors. Very good day indoors and out, despite heavy rain! They have a month to work on their own before the next session; can’t wait to see what creative ideas they come up with! This painting was accepted into the Emerald Spring Exhibition national juried show 2011 at Emerald Art Center, Springfield, OR! Juror, Judy Morris, AWS, NWS. Show runs from May 3–May 27, 2011. I hope you can join me at the opening reception May 7, 5:30–7:30. Her Classics, Judy Waller On Tour! My painting, The Essence of Beauty 5 is one of 50 Blossom II Art of Flowers paintings chosen from the 100 Finalists shown at Naples, FL in February to tour the Nation through 2012! Six important art museums are lined up so far, and the tour curator is working on more. Check in with the Blossom web site for updates to come, as well as a virtual museum tour of the show online to be posted there soon. Back from Florida, Inspired! What an incredible experience and honor it was to have my painting juried into such a show by such a distinguished panel of jurors (including Morten Solberg and Stephen Doherty) and to see it hanging in the Naples Art Museum among so many gorgeous paintings by so many fabulous artists! (Also on exhibit: original etchings by Rembrandt and 3 unbelievable installations by Dale Chihuly!) I felt like Dorothy in the Land of Oz! I didn’t come home with any cash awards, but received personal compliments and encouragement from several of the jurors. Blossom II Show, Naples Art Museum, FL News Flash! This painting was accepted into Blossom II Art of Flowers Show, an international competition! 2300 entries (1350 artists) from 35 countries, 100 Finalists chosen!
